We fixed 5 errors with Abdul Basit Murattal that were due to the file not being completely sent. We found these errors using the new 000_checksum.md5 file we uploaded. It's very important if you plan to copy these files that you use our MD5 checksum provided above to verify correct download , by using a free program such as QuickSFV. This will ensure that the files you downloaded were transferred correctly.
We plan to release this for all new recitations, and we are going to try to release it for old recitations but it will be difficult as we do not have some of the original files any more. For now we have created MD5 hashes of the files on our server (not verified against originals on my local machine which don't exist), so at least you will know you have the same file that is on our server, its called 000_unverified_checksum.md5, and it is in each folder.

Please see Abdul Basit Murattal Recitation Sheikh Abd Al Basit Abd As Samad
[b. 1927]. He came to Cairo from the city of Armant in Upper Egypt in 1950, having established his reputation in the south. He is the first reciter in his family, but his grandfather was a religious scholar of al-Azhar training. Shaykh Abd al-Bâsit is probably the best-known of Egyptian reciters outside of Egypt, as he was the first to make commercial recordings of his reciting, and he has traveled extensively outside of Egypt. Among his recordings are the complete text of the Qur'ân in both styles, murattal and mujawwad. Shaykh 'Abd al-Bâsit is one of thc four top-ranking reciters in Egypt. He was the first president of the newly formed Reciters' Union. Shaykh Abd al-Bâsit is admired for breath control and his high, clear (harîmî) voice.
